you know how they say if you wake up on the wrong side of the bed you'd have a really horrid day ahead? i think i fell off the wrong side of the bed, which might probably have been the root of all my misery today.
so some weird...intuitive force came over me the moment i woke up this morning that prompted me to switch on my handphone. and then i was greeted by a sudden influx of sms's, all from doctor yong at NTU (they arrived at midnight, and i was asleep already. like DURH) informing me that i had to check my email ASAP and i had to do an essay by 12 noon TODAYYYY. alright that was all the motivation i needed to get out of bed.
so i thought, fine, no use moaning about it this decides if i get to be IN the research programme or not.. OKAY SO I switched on the computer and read the topic of the essay i had to do only to find that it was some shit on THE USEFULNESS OF COCONUT WATER (like wth, my project of choice was on HERBS, HERRRRBSSS, not a bloody buoyant bodoh fruit.)
i smsed the professor, to confirm the topic, and he said yes, that WAS the topic i was supposed to write on. so i thought it was no use complaining, might as well get over and done with it.
AND THEN MY COMPUTER PROMPTLY BROKE DOWN.
and all it gave was a lousy poot "bzzzt' and the whole screen went blank.

okay okay. NEVER MIND. i don't know why i hadn't lost my mind at that point of time, but someway or another i managed to keep my cool, and proceeded to use my dad's computer to do all that rubbish i had to do.
AND THEN THE INTERNET CONNECTION SCREWED UP.
i had to use my last and final resort, and prayed really fervently that it'd work. luckily my aunt's computer WORKED PERFECTLY, and it had adobe to read all that pdf resources. but by the time i got down to working on the essay proper, it was NINE THIRTY.
ROAR. i am so disgusted with last minute deadlines.
but after all that early morning drama, the shopping spree with fishy did much to loosen me up heh. bought a really pretty long chunky necklace! from that new shopping place across the road from parco. oh but we witnessed an accident. tres horrible.

today on the bus i received an sms from my sister which made me really glad i hadn't chosen orchard as my shopping destination today.
i think certain memories are overrated. They only serve as reminders of something you had in the past which you aren't in possession of anymore. so what if they were good? they're all GONE, they don't account for anything, and they hardly hold any significance anymore, except to occasinally make you wistful and make you regret. i don't like to be reminded that there area some things i can never have or will never have again. so i guess i was an idiot to be pacified by reminders that i still had GOOD memories. oh man.
