WHOOOHOOO today was absolutely ROCKING (: walk in! after two months of hard work, last minute sourcing for materials, intensive dance practices, back to back combined practice and a hundred different tracks to choose from, we had our final showdown today. the preparation period passed in a flurry because we had SO MANY things to settle at the last minute, including the dry ice which arrived like minutes before we were due to enter (thank you JEN!!!)
i think i'll never forget all that prep work and the events today morning. reaching school at 630 to a bunch of sleepy but excited faces, handing out the black wraps, rushing to amphi for briefing, sneaking away halfway to go try out the tippy-pail-confetti-thing at the hall with sam greg and zhiwei, fearing that it might not work after all, rushing to assembly, rushing to get changed, realizing that there weren't enough blue poles for the red indians and then grabbing whatever blue poles we could find lying around, filling the cups with water and almost using candles as a substitute, crushing the dry ice which arrived just at the last minute, panicking when we realized we only had 5 minutes left before we were due to enter (because the whole sequence started early), grabbing whatever props we could remember to grab and preparing outside the doors, our entry where the dry ice stopped smoking, chriselle and i crashing into each other in our great hurry to go backstage to turn on the pillar lights, running to the WRONG DOOR and trying to break it open with force before hiphop entry, praying so hard that sam's mount will be alright, the screams when the confetti landed, bursting with relief and the incredible urge to hop up and down screaming that we've finally done it, swelling with pride when we were out of the door that we've made walk in as perfect as it could have been under pressure.
i'm really glad that it's been such a memorial process and rather sad that now it's all over and done with. i love aqua ogls to bits and pieces for being the crazy and supportive bunch they are! AQUA GO FLOW WOAH!
the rest of the day was spent going wild and hoarse (: met my new og og23 or s21 and am now ogl-ing with sarah chriselle fadz sam and varun hoorayyy! they're rather quiet, and tend to ignore our questions but ohwell i guess it'd get alot better tomorrow with station games ohyeah babeh can't wait. mass dance was funny and fun haha. yewseng and i were dancing onstage which was bloody WARM and we got lost at a few points in time rawrrr malu.
clan session! cheered the air out of my lungs. we've got quite a noisy bunch of azarians i hope they only get noisier! haha 'i wna mingle' was hilarious. cos we basically didn't care for the rules! was quite sad it had to end so early because i was having the time of my life, probably enjoying orientation more than the j1s were HAHA
but ohwell, more to look forward to tomorrow (: i really don't want orientation to end awww. then it's WHAM going back to face the reality of schoolwork and tests boohoo.
